Philippos Christoforou

Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Philippos Christoforou is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Epilepsy in Cyprus.

Inspired by a vision for a more informed, compassionate and inclusive society, Philippos established Epilepsy in Cyprus to raise awareness, provide trusted educational resources, advocate for people living with epilepsy and support individuals and families throughout Cyprus.
His mission is to challenge stigma, promote understanding and help ensure that every person affected by epilepsy feels heard, respected and supported.
Through education, collaboration and community action, Philippos is working toward a future where epilepsy is better understood and no one has to face it alone.

Panos Christoforou

Head of Digital Development
Panos Christoforou leads the digital development of Epilepsy in Cyprus, overseeing the design, development, accessibility and continued improvement of the organization’s online presence.

His work focuses on creating a modern, secure and user-friendly digital platform that connects individuals and families with reliable information, educational resources and opportunities for community support.

Through thoughtful design and technology, Panos helps extend the organization’s mission across Cyprus and beyond.

He is committed to ensuring that the website remains informative, inclusive, accessible and easy to use for people of all ages and abilities.

Dr.anggelos gregoriou

Dr Angelos Gregoriou, Neurologist

BMedSci, BMBS, MRCP (Neurology)
Dr. Angelos Gregoriou, BmedSci BMBS MRCP (Neurology), studied Medicine in the United Kingdom, where he specialized in Neurology.
Until 2015, he held the position of Consultant Neurologist and Director of the Epilepsy Clinic at Royal Derby Hospital.

In 2013, he attended a training program on managing patients with epilepsy and related conditions at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA. During his work at Royal Derby Hospital, he established the First Seizure Clinic, which helps provide faster and easier diagnoses for new patients, as well as specialized medical care, in line with the standards of the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

As the Director of the Epilepsy Department, Dr. Gregoriou was responsible for handling complex cases and developed protocols for managing epilepsy during pregnancy, for the smooth transition of adolescent patients from pediatric to adult care, as well as for the holistic treatment of patients with epilepsy who also have behavioral or learning difficulties.

In collaboration with the Neurophysiology Department at Royal Derby Hospital, he organized a Diagnostic Video-Telemetry Center for multi-day monitoring and recording of episodes, an important tool for distinguishing epileptic seizures from other events and clarifying the cause of episodes occurring during sleep.
